April 2026

At Legacy Engineering, we pride ourselves on building things that last. No one embodies that mission better than Kevin Parris, Legacy’s Vice President of Development.

Since starting his career in the early 90s, Kevin has been a fixture in the Virginia engineering community. Whether it was the early days of carving out new housing developments or the complex task of stabilizing major sports complexes and highways, Kevin’s work is woven into the very infrastructure of our state. In 2004, alongside Russ Harris, Kevin founded Dominion Engineering Associates (DEA), building a legacy of excellence that we are proud to carry forward today at Legacy Engineering.

As many of you are aware, Kevin has faced a new and unexpected challenge this year with some health issues. In a testament to the man we all know, he has met this battle with the same relentless positivity and "can-do" spirit that he brought to every job site for thirty years. To focus his energy on his health and his family, Sarah, Emily, and Elizabeth “Lizzie,” Kevin has decided to step into retirement earlier than he had originally planned.

The outpouring of support from his clients, many of whom have been by his side since the 90s, is a reflection of the deep, personal bonds Kevin built. He never just saw a client; he saw a partner and, eventually, a lifelong friend.

Kevin, your Dominion Engineering Associates and Legacy Engineering families are standing with you. We are inspired by your strength and so grateful for the decades of wisdom and friendship you’ve shared with us.
