Join us as we celebrate a decade of dedicated service and inspired design. In January 2024, Legacy Engineering will proudly mark its 10-year milestone. Founded in 2014 by Sara Fila, PE, MRED, and her father, Bruce Reese, PE, LS, Legacy began with a focus on civil engineering for both residential and commercial projects. The goal for Legacy early on was to grow and diversify the land development services, industry sectors and geographic regions to create a sustainable business in an ever-changing economy.
Since then, Legacy has completed over 6,000 projects, ranging from small-scale developments to large-scale commercial and industrial ventures. Our team of highly skilled professionals has consistently delivered exceptional results, staying true to our mission of providing dedicated service and inspired design, regardless of the project size.
In addition to expanding our services, markets, and team, Legacy has also successfully acquired two notable companies. In January 2019, we welcomed Miles and Company, LLC, a Fredericksburg-based land surveying firm. Their expertise, client base, and highly qualified staff supplemented our growing surveying team. In April 2022, Legacy acquired Dominion Engineering Associates (DEA), a geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing and inspection firm, along with an AASHTO-certified construction testing and inspection lab in Spotsylvania, VA. In the same year, we opened an office in the City of Richmond, providing a central location for growth, collaboration, and better service to our clients throughout Virginia.
