Job Responsibilities:

  • Setup and manage projects

  • Consult with clients on project strategy

  • Prepare and process proposals/contracts

  • Manage subconsultant relationships and contracts

  • Prepare and issue project status reports to clients on a bi-weekly basis as appropriate

  • Ensure that projects are properly prepared for construction (construction check, permitting completeness, precon, letters, etc.)

  • Manage construction-phase services (RFI’s, submittals, issues, close-outs)

  • Complete and review teams timesheets and expense reports in a timely manner

  • Effectively manage project coverage while on vacation or during schedule conflicts

  • Ensure production calendar is up-to-date daily and communicate when conflicts occur

  • Maintain PE status and adhere to applicable Continuing Education requirements

  • Stay current on regional development, industry, and client news

  • Represent Legacy and/or clients at meetings, marketing events, site visits

Skills:

  • Minimum of five (5) years Civil Engineering experience and thorough understanding of financial principles

  • Experience with preparing and processing land development applications is required

  • Ensures the quality of plans and other work completed by project team

  • Leads, coaches, mentors, and motivates team members in various elements of design and project coordination

  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards and requirements

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D, Hydraflow, Stormsewer analysis, WaterCAD and Microsoft Office Suite is required

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work and thrive in a team-based environment, team player

  • Ability to thrive in a remote work environment & work in conjunction with remote workers

Education:

  • Must have a S. in Civil Engineering or similar field of study from an accredited university

Geotechnical Department Manager

Accounting Administrator

Job Description: Legacy Engineering, P.C., is a small, woman-owned civil engineering firm specializing in land development design and consulting. We are headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia and proudly serve clients throughout the Commonwealth. We are seeking a highly motivated team player to join our team! We are in immediate need for an experienced Accounting Administrator to ensure accurate and timely processing of billing, and payroll for our mid-sized company in a multi-state environment. Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience processing billing and managing full cycle payroll, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; and have demonstrated an advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, ADP, and Excel.

Job Responsibilities:

BILLING

  • Ensuring that client information is kept up to date

  • Ensure billing is completed monthly according to the billing cycles

  • Generating and sending invoices and statements to clients

  • Correct any billing errors by issuing credit memos

  • Recovering outstanding debts by participating in monthly collections meetings

  • Resolving errors, tracking expenses and handling billing inquiries from clients

  • Tasks as assigned by supervisor

PAYROLL

  • Ensure submission of timesheets on a weekly basis, audit timesheets and make revisions as necessary biweekly in preparation for payroll

  • Process and reconcile payroll on a biweekly basis

  • Establish and maintain payroll files in accordance with audit requirements

  • Maintain record of leave and nontaxable wages

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters

  • Research payroll tax issues and manage tax applications

  • Processes manual/out of cycle checks, bonuses, garnishments, and new hire state reporting

  • Assists HR with auditing payroll for new hires, terminations, pay increases and PTO reporting

  • Tasks as assigned by supervisor

Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, FAR, Labor and Payroll Laws

  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and attention to detail skills

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information

  • Strong technology skills, including advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel and QuickBooks and ADP Workforce Now payroll software

  • The ability to evaluate recent technology for use in creating efficiency in processes

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with a concentration in accounting is preferred

  • 2-3 years’ experience managing computerized, multi-state payroll administration and knowledge of payroll laws and regulations

  • 3-5 years’ experience handing computerized billing administration
